Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole Review

Hunger Like No Other, follows the story of Emmaline, a female vampire who is on a trip to Paris where she expects to find information about her parents and her heritage, and Lachlain, the leader of the Lykae clan who was imprisoned and tortured in the catacombs under Paris for over 15 decades by the vampire Horde. To resume without giving out the juicy content of the book, Lachlain finds Emma in Paris and pretty much kidnaps her.

At first I didn't know what to expect from this book. I wasn't certain if I would like it. I don't even like werewolves to begin with and Emma was such a weak vampire that it made me sick. I must say that Kresley Cole has impressed me! And I will definitely read more of her books. I really enjoyed the beginning of the story, it's full of sexual tension between the main characters and Lachlain's 'alpha male' attitude is pretty damn hot. The plot line is very refreshing, I can't compare this book to any other. (That I have read, anyway)

The relationship between Emma and Lachlain is very unbalanced, there are several issues they most work out; Lachlain's hatred for vampires, Emma is terrified of him and doesn't want anything to do with him despite the sexual tension, just when Emma starts trusting the Lykae she finds out he's been lying to her all along and obviously she knows that she will never be accepted into the Lykae clan. Just to mention a few.

What I liked most about the book is Emma's development from being naive, afraid and completely dependable on her aunts, to someone who is self confident and no longer pushed around by her aunts and Lachlain. I also loved the fact that the Lykae are not the clique werewolves; they don't grow fur and huge claws when the full moon rises. That's a very good thing because, really, I'm not into werewolves and this only means that I've grown to love the furless Lykae.

The book is super sexy and hot, it will make you want to find a Lykae of your own. And I'm serious when I say the alpha male Lachlain is to die for!
